Meet Your Game Coach
A great video game party is about more than screens and games. Every Game Trucks GT party includes a Game Coach who stays inside the gaming trailer with the players, helps run the games and keeps the party moving.
From helping kids choose games to setting up controllers and bringing players together, the Game Coach is there so the kids can enjoy the party – and parents don’t have to manage the gaming.
What Does a Game Coach Do?
Before the party begins, the Game Coach prepares the gaming systems and makes sure everything is ready for your guests.
During the party, the Game Coach:
- welcomes the players and explains the basic rules;
- helps kids choose games they will enjoy;
- sets up games and controllers and helps players join multiplayer games;
- moves from screen to screen to make sure everyone is playing;
- helps children change games during the party;
- encourages kids to play together and helps include players of different gaming skill levels;
- assists when a player needs help with a game or controller;
- keeps an eye on the gaming area and equipment;
- follows parents’ requests about games or content they do not want played;
- keeps the party organized and the gaming moving from start to finish.
The goal is simple: less waiting, less confusion and more time playing.
Parents Can Relax
Parents are always welcome to come inside the Game Truck and see what the kids are playing, but you do not need to manage the party yourself.
The Game Coach remains with the players inside the gaming trailer, helping with games, controllers and the general flow of the party.
Have a special request? Tell the Game Coach before the party starts. If there are favorite games your kid wants to play – or particular games or types of content you do not want played – just let us know.

Keeping Everyone in the Game
With up to 32 players and 8 gaming screens, a Game Coach has an important job: making sure the gaming experience works for the whole group.
Some kids arrive knowing exactly what they want to play. Others may be younger, less experienced or unfamiliar with a particular console. The Game Coach helps players find a game, get their controllers working and join the fun.
Kids are free to change games during the party, and the coach helps make those transitions as easy as possible.
Game Choices and Parent Preferences
We have 150+ video games for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Wii.
Parents can send us game preferences before the event or speak with the Game Coach when we arrive. You can tell us:
- your child’s favorite games;
- games you would especially like available;
- games you do not want played;
- any concerns about violent or mature game content.
The Game Coach will use these preferences to help guide game choices during the party.
Game Coach for Schools, Camps and Larger Events
Game Coaches aren’t only for birthday parties. They also help manage gaming during school events, camps, community events, corporate events and large parties.
For events where guests play in rotations, the Game Coach helps players enter and leave the gaming area, get started quickly and make the most of their gaming time.
Need a VSC-screened Game Coach?
Game Trucks GT has a Game Coach with a valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) available for schools, daycares and other organizations that require it.
Please let us know when booking if a VSC is required for your event so we can check the coach’s availability.
